J.J. Wilcox
S - FA
2025 Outlook
Availability
The Colts signed free agent safety J.J. Wilcox Tuesday. He fills one of the roster spots vacated by the placement of linebacker Skai Moore and defensive tackle Al Woods on injured reserve.
Fantasy Impact
Wilcox played five games for the Jets earlier this season, accumulating three tackles. He has also played with the Steelers (2017) and Cowboys (2013-16). In 75 career games (39 starts), Wilcox has 211 tackles, six interceptions, 16 passes defensed, two forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries.
JJ Wilcox had an interception and a tackle against the Colts.
Fantasy Impact
The Colts were driving for a touchdown at the end of the first half and JJ Wilcox intercepted Andrew Luck's pass and took it 46 yards to end the half. Wilcox has been working diligently to be an instrumental part of the Cowboys defense and his third interception acheived that. He now has interceptions in back to back games and has firmly solidified himself in the Cowboys secondary. As players like Morris Claiborne and Brandon Carr have their secondary positions questioned coming into 2015, Wilcox has stated his case to be a permanent starter for the remainder of 2014 and beyond.
JJ Wilcox had a team high 55 defensive snaps against the Eagles and added four tackles, a forced fumble, and had interception.
Fantasy Impact
Wilcox has been a solid contributor for the Cowboys this year, averaging 4.5 tackles per game and adding two interceptions. Seven times this season Wilcox has had five or more tackles and has been very active in the secondary. Andrew Luck has the most passing yards and touchdown passes in the NFL, but also has 14 interceptions, second in the AFC, and has been intercepted in three consecutive games. The Cowboys have a huge opportunity in a must win game and Wilcox can be an impact player.
