Week 16 Outlook
Availability
Jernigan missed most of 2014 due to injury (foot sprain). The Giants' decision to not re-sign Jernigan was expected.
Fantasy Impact
Jernigan holds no fantasy value in dynasty or redraft formats.
Giants slot man wide receiver Jerrel Jernigan was placed on I.R., ending his season.
Fantasy Impact
Not much fantasy impact here. But it does help legitimize Larry Donnell a little. And it paves the way for first rounder Odell Beckham Jr to man the slot once he's healthy.
Jerrel Jernigan suffered a mid-foot sprain during Sunday's loss to the Cardinals. Early reports are that he may miss at least 4 weeks due to the injury.
Fantasy Impact
Jernigan is not on the fantasy radar at all. His prolonged absence, together with the continuing hamstring injury to Odell Beckham, thins out the Giants' receiving corps and may force the Giants to rely on Preston Parker or pre-season standout Corey Washington in three WR sets.
Jernigan also had one carry for negative 2 yards. Despite the 4 catches (and 7 targets), Jernigan still suffered from bad route miscommunication issues with Eli Manning.
Fantasy Impact
Although Jernigan was used heavily (targeted 7 times, second highest on the Giants, and logged 51 of 60 snaps) he should only be rostered in the deepest of leagues. If Odell Beckham comes back from his hamstring injury, Beckham would likely supplant Jernigan in three receiver sets.
