Jeff Thomas

Week 16 Outlook
Availability
The Patriots have released WR Jeff Thomas.
Fantasy Impact
Thomas joined the Patriots as an undrafted free agent. He was dealing with a leg injury during camp, but returned to full practice end of August. Thomas will most likely go unclaimed and could rejoin the Patriots practice squad.
When responding to Twitter questions Doug Kyed from the New England Sports Network (NESN) suggested that Jeff Thomas has the best chance to make the roster of the four undrafted Patriots wideouts. Despite receiving the smallest amount of guaranteed money of the four Kyed believes that Thomas' raw talent will push him over the other three (Isaiah Zuber, Will Hastings, and Sean Riley).
Fantasy Impact
Julian Edelman, N’Keal Harry, Mohamed Sanu, and Jakobi Meyers have the inside track on the top four places on the depth chart. The four undrafted rookies will have to compete against at least five other veterans in order to make the roster, highlighted most notably by Marqise Lee who joined in April as a free agent (previously from the Jaguars). Given his talent Jeff Thomas is worth a stash in dynasty leagues, but don't be surprised if he spends his rookie season on the practice roster.
The New England Patriots have signed UDFA wide receiver Jeff Thomas from Miami.
Fantasy Impact
The New England Patriots may have struck gold again by signing one of the hottest UDFA commodities. His contract details have not yet been released, but he figures to have one of the higher guarantees for the position. Thomas ran a strong 4.45 at the 2020 NFL Combine, but teams were likely hoping for a better time from the 5'9, 170 lbs receiver. Explosive on tape, Thomas' off field issues likely prevented him from being drafted. He should be able to make the team, and make a fantasy impact if given the opportunity to play meaningful snaps.
Jeff Thomas (5'9/170) runs a 4.45 40-yard dash at the 2020 NFL Combine.
Fantasy Impact
Jeff Thomas showed off his great long speed with this 40-yard dash, but his tape has enough concerns to put him down draft boards. At his size, it's likely that Thomas is relegated to merely special teams in the NFL, which makes him an untouchable option in fantasy football.
