Week 13 Outlook
Availability
Jared Allen announced his retirement on Thursday after 12 seasons in the NFL.
Fantasy Impact
Jared Allen finished his NFL career with 136 sacks in 12 seasons.
Jared Allen(foot) is out for Sunday's Conference Championship matchup against the Arizona Cardinals.
Fantasy Impact
Jared Allen is a huge loss for the Carolina Panthers defense. Although he is at the tail end of his career, he is still a veteran presence and leader in the locker room with some gas left in the tank as an edge rusher.
Carolina veteran DE Jared Allen won't play on Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals in the NFC Championship Game. If Carolina can get to the Super Bowl, Allen should be able to return.
Fantasy Impact
It's a blow to the Carolina pass rush but Carolina has DE Charles Johnson and DE Kony Ealy will take his place opposite Johnson. Ealy has managed five sacks this season and Carolina still has two of the best DT in Star Lotulelei and Kawaan Short.
Jared Allen missed practice on Tuesday with a pinched nerve in his foot, and said "I'm just trying to get feeling back in my foot."
Fantasy Impact
At first glance the situation seems pretty severe, but Allen maintains that he'll be ready to go for Sunday's tilt versus the Seahawks. He's not the dominant force he used to be, but he'll play in pass rushing situations, and got in for about half the plays in his Carolina debut.
Jared Allen was traded to the Carolina Panthers. He will be with team for Week 4.
Fantasy Impact
Allen was out of place for the Bears and their 3-4 scheme. He should fit in better in Carolina, where they run a 4-3 system. He should move back to defensive end. His fantasy value should go up after the change.
