Jake Luton
QB -
Week 13 Outlook
Availability
The Saints have signed QB Jake Luton to their 53-man roster.
Fantasy Impact
This is a clear sign that the team expects to be without Derek Carr (shoulder) for at least this week. Luton will add depth behind expected starter Jameis Winston. The 27-year-old has appeared in three games in his career, registering a 54.5 completion percentage, two touchdowns, and six interceptions in three games with the Jaguars in 2020.
The Panthers have waived QB Jake Luton as the team cuts their roster down ahead of the regular season.
Fantasy Impact
Luton would've been the fourth QB on the Panthers roster, and it seems like the team will head into the season with first-overall pick Bryce Young, veteran Andy Dalton, and 2022 third-rounder Matt Corral. Luton started three games for the Jaguars in 2020 and has not returned to a starting role since.
Jake Luton completed 16-of-37 passes for 151 yards and four interceptions in the Jaguars' Week 11 loss to the Steelers by a 27-3 score.
Fantasy Impact
Luton did not make a good case for him to keep his job with fellow QB Gardner Minshew almost ready to come back from his thumb injury. Fantasy owners should be keeping an eye on updates going into Week 12 to see who gets the start for the Jaguars.
Jake Luton went 18-for-35 for 169 yards and threw a touchdown while also giving up an interception on Sunday as the Jaguars lost to the Packers by a 24-20 score in Week 10 action.
Fantasy Impact
Luton had to deal with windy conditions in Green Bay on Sunday and the Jaguars played a short passing/ball control offense. The rookie QB will look to get another start in Week 11 when the team faces the Steelers in a matchup that could be tough for Luton. He is only worth owning in deeper fantasy leagues at this point.
Jake Luton has been confirmed the starter for the Jaguars Week 10 matchup vs. the Packers.
Fantasy Impact
HC Doug Marrone confirmed on Monday that Luton will get the start vs. Green Bay. Gardner Minshew is expected to miss another week with a thumb injury, and at this point, it's unclear if he will get the job back when he's healthy. Luton was solid in Sunday's loss to the Texans, completing 26 of 38 passes for 304 yards and one touchdown, and rushing for another. Luton could potentially have value in Super-FLEX leagues, but with a healthy Minshew on the horizon, it's hard to predict moving forward.
