Week 16 Outlook
Availability
Veteran DE Jabaal Sheard is visiting with the Detroit Lions on Thursday.
Fantasy Impact
The Lions are looking to add some veteran help to a defense that has been terrible so far this season. Sheard started 12 games for the Colts last season and had 25 tackles and 4.5 sacks.
Coach Bill Belichick said DE Jabaal Sheard has been good the last couple weeks. Sheard did not even travel with the team for the Week 11 game in San Francisco, but he has played 44 percent and 54 percent of the defensive snaps in the last two games with seven tackles and a couple pass breakups over that span.
Fantasy Impact
Sheard came into the season as a potential breakout for IDP leagues. He has been disappointing most of the year leading up to his benching in Week 11. He should be on fantasy owners radar as he can easily create turnovers along with sacks when he gets going.
Jabaal Sheard (knee) participated in individual drills for the first time since spraining his MCL, Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald reports. Sheard's injury occurred during the Patriots' preseason opener against the Saints.
Fantasy Impact
Sheard is coming into 2016 as the Patriots top pass rusher. He finished 2015 with eight sacks, 47 tackles, and four forced fumbles. If he can get back on the field in time for the opening of the season he is someone to consider for IDP fantasy leagues.
Jabaal Sheard finished Sunday with two sacks, two forced fumbles and four tackles helping to lead the Patriots over the Texans 27-6.
Fantasy Impact
Jabaal Sheard looked dominant at times against the Texans and they struggled to block him. He is someone who can make plays and is a sleeper candidate for IDP fantasy leagues.
Jabaal Sheard (ankle) has been ruled out for Thursday's game, ESPN's Mike Reiss reports. Sheard hasn't been able to play since Week 6 as he's been dealing with a nagging ankle injury.
Fantasy Impact
Jabaal Sheard has had a strong start to his Patriots career and looked to be a sleeper pick up for IDP fantasy leagues. But this injury has set him back so keep an eye on him once he does get on the field.
