Hendon Hooker
QB - Detroit Lions
Availability
Hendon Hooker has won the QB2 job for the Detroit Lions.
Fantasy Impact
Hooker was competing for the backup job with Nate Sudfeld and Jake Fromm this offseason, but after an impressive preseason, he has won the role and the other two are off of the team. He has flashed a good amount of potential and could be an above-average backup if Jared Goff ever goes down with an injury.
Hendon Hooker completed 12-of-20 pass attempts for 114 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in the Lions’ 24-17 win over Pittsburgh.
Fantasy Impact
Hooker also impressed on the ground, tallying 93 rushing yards on 10 carries. He was able to find Jake Funk on a two-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter, capping off the best drive of the day for Hooker. With Jared Goff and Nate Sudfeld sitting out, it appears Hooker is destined for the QB3 role in the Lions’ offense in 2024.
Hendon Hooker completed 12-of-15 pass attempts for 150 yards while also rushing five times for 11 yards and one touchdown in the Lions' 24-23 win over the Chiefs Saturday.
Fantasy Impact
Hooker was impressive after replacing Nate Sudfeld behind center, making plays through the air as well as on the ground against the Chiefs. The 2023 draft choice continues to capitalize on opportunities behind center and is making a strong case to begin the season in the No. 2 quarterback spot on the depth chart behind starter Jared Goff.
Lions QB Hendon Hooker suffered a concussion in the second half of Thursday’s game with the Giants.
Fantasy Impact
Hooker will now have to clear the league’s concussion protocol before he is able to return to practice. He completed five of his nine pass attempts for 36 yards and rushed for 34 yards on four carries prior to the injury.
Lions QB Hendon Hooker is officially inactive for a Week 16 matchup with Minnesota.
Fantasy Impact
Hooker was activated from the reserve/non-football injury list. He will serve as the emergency third quarterback against the Vikings.
