Greedy Williams (hamstring) will not be activated from IR for Week 5.
Fantasy Impact
Williams was designated to return from IR earlier this week, but that will not happen in time for Sunday's bout with the Chargers. The fourth-year CB will try to get back in time to help the Browns' secondary in Week 6.
The Cleveland Browns placed CB Greedy Williams on IR Friday with a hamstring injury. He will miss at least four games.
Fantasy Impact
Williams appeared in 16 games last season and registered two interceptions, 10 passed defensed, and 40 tackles. The Browns' next four games are with the Panthers, Jets, Steelers, and Falcons, so they should be able to withstand losing Williams for now. As long as Williams can return from IR after four games, the Browns' D/ST should remain a top 10 option.
The Browns are "optimistic" that cornerback Greedy Williams (shoulder) will be healthy enough to play during the team's Week 1 game against the Chiefs.
Fantasy Impact
Williams appeared in 12 games during his rookie campaign back in 2019 but hasn't seen the field since then. He was ruled out for each of the Browns' first five games last season before ultimately landing on the injured reserve. Now, the 23-year-old projects as Cleveland's starting cornerback alongside Denzel Ward.
Greedy Williams has been placed on IR with a nerve issue in his shoulder.
Fantasy Impact
Williams does not need surgery but there is no official timetable for his return. Based on the IR designation, Williams would be eligible to return as soon as Week 9. Williams has yet to play a single snap in 2020. Terrance Mitchell will continue being his replacement.
CB Greedy Williams (shoulder) will not play Sunday’s Week 5 game against the Colts.
Fantasy Impact
Williams has yet to play a game this year due to a shoulder injury. Terrance Mitchell will once again replace Williams as one of the Browns’ starting corners.
