Week 12 Outlook
Availability
The San Francisco 49ers activated tight end Garrett Celek from the reserve/physically unable to perform list ahead of tonight's contest against the Seattle Seahawks.
Fantasy Impact
Celek’s activation is an ominous sign for George Kittle’s potential availability for tonight's contest. Kittle was able to play through the injury in Week 9, and head coach Kyle Shanahan offered that almost any other player with the same ailments would have already been ruled out. While tonight's contest may be viewed as something of a must win with the Seahawks breathing down their necks in the standings, risking Kittle’s availability for the rest of the season for a chance to win one game is not in the team's best interests. Celek will likely function as emergency depth behind Ross Dwelley and Levine Toiolo if Kittle is ruled out.
Garrett Celek (PUP, back) has resumed practicing.
Fantasy Impact
Celek has been out all season with a back issue. The 49ers have three weeks to activate him or else he'll wind up on season-ending IR.
ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting San Francisco 49ers TE Garrett Celek (knee) is expected to play Week 16.
Fantasy Impact
Although he is battling a knee injury, Celek is expected to play in Sunday's matchup against the Jaguars. However, while he's emerged as the 49ers' TE1 in the second half of the year, he's viewed a risky fantasy option facing a shut-down Jaguars defense. Avoid him in Week 16.
Garrett Celek caught three passes for 63 yards and a touchdown in the win over the Titans.
Fantasy Impact
Celek continues to produce even with the 49ers spreading the ball out. He won't be worth a look next week against the Jaguars.
Garrett Celek caught two passes for 61 yards and a touchdown against Houston.
Fantasy Impact
Jimmy G and the Niners like to spread the ball out, but Celek is worth a look if his price stays dirt cheap in good matchups.
