Week 16 Outlook
Availability
The Seahawks have released Ed Dickson and will save most of the $3M he was due.
Fantasy Impact
The 32-year-old tight end will most likely find a new home this offseason, but hasn't been relevant in fantasy football since his early years in Baltimore. After nine seasons as a pro, Dickson has turned into a blocking tight end and has never surpassed five touchdowns in a single season. Jacob Hollister filled in as the primary pass-catcher after Will Dissly went down with a season-ending injury and the Seahawks must be comfortable with that duo going forward. Regardless of where Dickson ends up this offseason, he'd be a huge reach in any fantasy leagues.
Seahawks tight end Ed Dickson is expected to be placed back on injured reserve, according to a report from ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. Dickson was activated this week, but there is concern over his recovery from the injury.
Fantasy Impact
Dickson has not played this season and is not on many rosters, but those who are in deeper redraft leagues who have been stashing him can now safely move on.
Seahawks coach Pete Carroll says Ed Dickson (knee) will return in Week 12.
Fantasy Impact
Dickson was close to returning for Seattle's Week 10 game on Monday night but the team wanted him to have the additional two weeks to heal. The Seahawks a bye in Week 11. Dickson will likely operate behind Jacob Hollister and doesn't have any fantasy value.
Ed Dickson has been placed on IR by the Seahawks, which likely prompted the re-signing of WR Jaron Brown. Dickson will be allowed to return this season.
Fantasy Impact
Not having Dickson around for the beginning part of the season presents a great opportunity for second-year TE Will Dissly. In four games last season, he caught two touchdowns and 156 yards on eight receptions. Dissly is the perfect candidate for a TE stream.
Seahawks beat writer Bob Condotta is reporting TE Ed Dickson (knee) will be sidelined 4-to-5 weeks with a knee injury.
Fantasy Impact
Dickson underwent a knee procedure to repair the injury and will miss the next 4-to-5 weeks of football activities at a minimum. The Seattle tight end duties will be handled by Nick Vannett, Jacob Hollister and Will Dissly while Dickson is out, putting his roster spot in jeopardy.
