Dorian Thompson-Robinson
QB - Cleveland Browns
This Week Outlook
Availability
The Cleveland Browns intend to play both Dorian Thompson-Robinson and Bailey Zappe with no starter yet announced, per head coach Kevin Stefanski.
Fantasy Impact
Thompson-Robinson has struggled since taking over at QB, averaging 0.93 adjusted net yards per pass attempt, the lowest among Browns QBs this season (Jameis Winston, 5.35; Deshaun Watson, 3.70). Zappe should get his first action as a Brown, but regardless of who is under center, expectations should be low for the offense entering the weekend as multi-TD underdogs.
Dorian Thompson-Robinson was limited at practice on Tuesday.
Fantasy Impact
Thompson-Robinson may split snaps in Week 18 with Bailey Zappe according to Browns coach Kevin Stefanski.
Dorian Thompson-Robinson completed 24 of 47 passes for 170 yards, with no touchdowns and one interception. The Dolphins' defense applied consistent pressure, resulting in multiple sacks and limiting Thompson-Robinson's effectiveness throughout the game.
Fantasy Impact
Thompson-Robinson’s performance highlights his current limitations as a fantasy option. While his volume of pass attempts offers some appeal in deeper leagues, his inefficiency and turnover issues make him a risky choice. Managers in need of quarterback help should look for more reliable options, as his upside is capped in Cleveland’s struggling offense.
Dorian Thompson-Robinson is dealing with a calf injury out of Sunday's game against the Bengals.
Fantasy Impact
Thompson-Robinson is expected to remain the starter if he is healthy enough in Week 17. Otherwise, Jameis Winston could be back at quarterback.
Dorian Thompson-Robinson completed 20-of-34 passes for 157 yards with two picks in the Browns' 24-6 loss to the Bengals on Sunday. He also ran 9 times for 49 yards and took five sacks.
Fantasy Impact
DTR was about as effective as expected, which was not very effective. The only Browns' pass catcher who really had a decent game with him at QB was David Njoku. He salvaged his fantasy day with 49 rushing yards, but even so, it wasn't much consolation for the lack of touchdowns and passing yards. Cleveland likely will continue to start DTR given the state of their team, at worst they will continue to develop him into a capable backup for the future, as he is unlikely to be their franchise QB.
