De'Von Achane
RB - Miami Dolphins
This Week Outlook
Availability
De’Von Achane had a tough outing in the Miami Dolphins’ 20-3 victory over the Cleveland Browns on Sunday. He carried the ball 10 times for just 25 yards, averaging 2.5 yards per carry, with no touchdowns. The Browns’ defense stifled Miami’s run game, leaving Achane unable to break free for any significant gains. His performance was a major letdown for fantasy managers expecting more production.
Fantasy Impact
Achane’s poor showing is a blow to fantasy managers relying on his upside during championship week. While his potential remains high due to his explosiveness, this game highlights the risk of relying on him in matchups against strong run defenses. Heading into the final week of the season, Achane should be viewed as a boom-or-bust flex option rather than a reliable starter.
De'Von Achane ran 17 times for 120 yards and one touchdown in the Dolphins' Week 16 victory against the 49ers. He additionally hauled in 6-of-7 targets for 70 yards.
Fantasy Impact
Achane produced his first 100-yard rushing performance of the season, thanks to a game-sealing 50-yard score with under two minutes left. Despite this season's rushing woes, his heavy involvement in the Dolphins passing attack has allowed him to serve as a strong fantasy option. Achane will remain on the RB1 map versus the Browns in championship week.
De'Von Achane (groin) was a full participant at practice on Thursday.
Fantasy Impact
Achane is listed on the injury report with a groin injury, but he has been a full participant in both practices so far this week, so it looks like he will be available to play in Week 16. Fantasy managers shouldn't hesitate to start him if he's cleared to play before game time.
De'Von Achane had a quieter performance in Week 15, rushing 12 times for 41 yards and catching all seven of his targets for 35 yards in a 20-12 loss to the Houston Texans. He also fumbled once, though the Dolphins retained possession.
Fantasy Impact
Achane's 76 total yards and lack of a touchdown were a step down from his recent production, where he scored a touchdown in his previous four games. He failed to average 4.0 yards per carry for the fourth straight game, and his longest run of the day was only nine yards. Achane has been a reliable fantasy option for much of the season, and his Week 15 performance, while not his best, still provided a decent floor in PPR leagues, thanks to his receiving volume. He has a tough matchup against a strong 49ers run defense in Week 16, so fantasy managers may want to temper expectations.
De'Von Achane rushed for 24 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries in the Dolphins 32-26 win over the Jets. He caught 6-of-7 targets for 45 yards.
Fantasy Impact
Achane struggled to really get anything going on the ground against the Jets' defense, outside of his early 2-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. He did miss time during the game as he was evaluated for a potential concussion, but did return right before halftime. Achane and the Dolphins will take on Houston in Week 15.
