Devin Funchess
WR -
Week 16 Outlook
Availability
Devin Funchess catches four passes for 19 yards and a touchdown in the Lions' 27-23 loss to the Falcons.
Fantasy Impact
Funchess was only targeted four times, but he managed to make work of those four, scoring the first receiving touchdown of the preseason. The Lions receiver is not on the depth chart for the team meaning he is buried at the back end and it fighting for a spot on the team at best, he should not be drafted in any leagues.
Lions WR/TE Devin Funchess (groin) won't practice Friday.
Fantasy Impact
Funchess is trying to revive his career in Detroit after a few disappointing tenured with various teams, but he is now facing new injury obstacles that he will have to overcome in order to earn a roster spot. The severity of the injury isn't yet clear, and he probably won't be fantasy relevant even if he does make the roster this year.
Green Bay Packers WR Devin Funchess (hamstring) has been placed on season-ending Injured Reserve (IR), per Adam Schefter.
Fantasy Impact
Funchess opted out of the 2020 season and was set to contribute in a loaded Packers offense with Aaron Rodgers' return until he injured his hamstring during the team's joint practice with the New York Jets last week. With Funchess on IR, this gives the Packers several directions to finish constructing their 2021 roster with the final round of cuts set to occur after this weekend. Rookie wideout Amari Rodgers could see increased targets and compete with Randall Cobb as Green Bay's WR4. Amari Rodgers is not worth drafting but could be a good waiver wire pick-up if he establishes a credible role within the Packers' offense.
Packers WR Devin Funchess has agreed to take a pay cut in order to remain with the team.
Fantasy Impact
Funchess has agreed to a pay cut of around $750,000 to help ease his cap hit. After signing a one-year contract with the Packers last year, he made the decision to opt-out of the 2020 season. Funchess hasn't played a game in nearly two years at this point, So it's difficult to project what he can bring to the table. The Packers have been looking to solidify their WR2 for some time now, and maybe a healthy Funchess can play the part.
WR Devin Funchess opts out of the 2020 season.
Fantasy Impact
Funchess signed a one-year deal with the Packers this offseason, and was expected to compete for the WR2 role opposite Davante Adams. He is decided to opt out of the 2020 season. Allen Lazard and Marques Valdes-Scantling move up the depth chart and will compete for a starting role. Funchess missed most of 2019 due to a broken collarbone and will try to latch onto another team in 2021.
