Week 16 Outlook
Availability
Chiefs TE Deon Yelder has signed his exclusive rights free agent tender and will return to Kansas City for the 2020 season.
Fantasy Impact
The 25-year old TE out of Western Kentucky has spent the past two seasons with the Chiefs. He played in nine games in 2019, recording three catches for 50 yards. He also contributed on special teams during the regular season and in the playoffs. Yelder will provide some depth at the tight end position behind Travis Kelce.
NOLA.com Saints columnist Larry Holder said that undrafted free agent tight end Deon Yelder impressed head coach Sean Payton with his pass receiving skills.
Fantasy Impact
Listed at 6-foot-4, 255 pounds, Yelder caught 52 passes for 688 yards and also rushed for another score last season for Western Kentucky. New Orleans recently cut Coby Fleener and has 37-year-old veteran Ben Watson atop their depth chart. Yelder will have a difficult time cracking the 53-man roster, but he's a name to remember when training camp kicks off this summer.
