Week 18 Outlook
Availability
Former Jaguars RB Denard Robinson will be attending Bears rookie mini-camp on a veteran try-out basis.
Fantasy Impact
It will be interesting if the Bears extend an offer to Robinson following this try-out. The Bears currently have a deep stable of running backs which includes: Jordan Howard, Jeremy Langford, Ka'Deem Carey, Benny Cunningham, and Tarik Cohen. Robinson rushed for 144 yards on 41 attempts last year with the Jaguars but he is going to have to show that he can do a lot better than that to see any touches with the Bears this season.
Denard Robinson suffered a high-ankle sprain in Week 13's contest against the Broncos.
Fantasy Impact
Robinson saw more opportunities with Chris Ivory dealing with his hamstring injury. He did well considering, but now it looks like he'll miss time due to the ankle injury.
Denard Robinson had 17 carries for 53 yards and 3 catches for 31 yards before exiting Sunday's contest against the Broncos in the third quarter.
Fantasy Impact
With Chris Ivory sidelined by a hamstring injury, Robinson saw the largest increase in workload, seeing the bulk of the Jaguars' backfield touches. It wasn't until Robinson left in the third quarter that Yeldon began seeing his production. Even with this, Robinson and the entire Jaguars' backfield should be avoided.
Denard Robinson finished Sunday's contest against the Bills with 13 carries for 39 yards.
Fantasy Impact
After Chris Ivory went down with a hamstring injury, the Jaguars' turned to Robinson to carry the majority of the load out of the backfield. With Yeldon still not 100% after an ankle injury, Robinson had 13 carries compared to 9 for Yeldon. This usage should not be expected once Yeldon and Ivory become healthy again.
Denard Robinson had three carries for 21 yards and one catch for four yards against the Lions on Sunday. Robinson was a part of the Jaguars offense for the first time since Week 2 and topped 25 yards of total offense for the first time since Week 16 of the 2015 season. He has seven carries for 35 yards and two catches for 11 yards this season.
Fantasy Impact
Robinson is barely a part of the Jaguars' offense and has not been able to break through in a poor rushing attack that includes the ineffective T.J. Yeldon and Chris Ivory. He had seen his carries drop from 135 to 67 from 2014 to 2015 and has had even less production this season. There is no reason to pick up Robinson in season long leagues, but he could be an interesting play against a Bills' defense that has allowed a TD to a RB in four of their last five games.
