DeAndrew White
WR -
Week 16 Outlook
Availability
San Francisco 49ers WR DeAndrew White caught 1-of-3 targets for 12 yards in Friday's 21-10 loss to the Green Bay Packers on Friday.
Fantasy Impact
The second year WR out of Alabama has the opportunity to see an uptick in playing time this season based on the 49ers lack of standout options at WR. He only had two receptions last year in very limited playing time so he should not be drafted in fantasy leagues.
San Francisco 49ers WR DeAndrew White caught 3-of-4 targets for 77 yards in the preseason finale Thursday night. White's longest reception was 36 yards from QB Dylan Thompson in the 49ers 14-12 win over the San Diego Chargers.
Fantasy Impact
The 49ers still have 15 more roster spots to clear by 1 PM on Saturday, so there are no guarantees for DeAndrew White at this time. The rookie out of Alabama made the best out of his opportunities in the preseason, but even if he makes the 53-man roster cut he may not seen much playing time right away.
San Francisco 49ers undrafted free-agent WR DeAndrew White caught 1-of-1 targets for eight yards in Sunday's preseason matchup against the Denver Broncos.
Fantasy Impact
With the suspension of Jerome Simpson for six games, White has the opportunity to compete for the No. 3 receiver slot along with Quinton Patton and Bruce Ellington. His first goal is to make the initial 53-man roster, but with injuries to other receivers and his special teams play the opportunity is there to find a role in the 49ers offense.
49er Beat writer Grant Cohn has dubbed DeAndrew White "clearly the best 49ers undrafted rookie WR", and stated that White has "terrific hands and body control".
Fantasy Impact
Undrafted rookie WRs on run-heavy teams don't typically move the fantasy needle, but it looks as if White is making a bid for the 49ers roster. White wasn't productive at all at Alabama, as he was largely overshadowed by Amari Cooper, and he didn't test particularity well athletically, either. Look for White and a bevvy of UDFA's to compete with Chuck Jacobs and Jerome Simpson for the 49ers 5th WR job.
