Dazz Newsome
WR -
Week 13 Outlook
Availability
Dazz Newsome was waived by the Bears Wednesday.
Fantasy Impact
The former sixth-round pick in 2021 will now be looking to catch on with another team. Newsome only appeared in three games with the Bears in 2021, registering just two receptions for 23 yards. Newsome will not be a fantasy viable option this season.
Chicago Bears rookie WR Dazz Newsome (collarbone) suffered a broken collarbone in practice on Tuesday and will undergo surgery on Thursday, per Tom Pelissero.
Fantasy Impact
Newsome suffered a clean break on his collarbone, which means he will undergo surgery and be available to return in eight weeks. This timeline will allow the sixth-round rookie wideout to return by the time Bears' training camp starts. Newsome recorded 188 receptions for 2,435 yards and 20 total touchdowns across the four seasons he played at the University of North Carolina. Newsome will have the chance to compete for a role as Chicago's second or third slot receiver behind Damiere Byrd and Anthony Miller.
The Chicago Bears selected wide receiver Dazz Newsome with the No. 221 pick in the 2021 NFL draft.
Fantasy Impact
The Bears wide receiver group isn't extremely deep, so there is a chance Newsome can create an opportunity for himself with a strong training camp. There have been trade rumors surrounding Anthony Miller for a while, so we will see if anything eventually comes of that.
