Deaton was slated to fill in for injured center Nick Harris after Harris was injured in Friday’s preseason game against Jacksonville. The seventh-round rookie also landing on IR leaves a glaring hole in the Browns’ offensive line. Currently the Browns have Ethan Pocic and Brock Hoffman as the only two centers left on the roster.

Deaton’s injury comes just days after fellow center Nick Harris suffered a knee injury in Friday’s preseason opener that will likely end his season.
