Craig Reynolds
RB - Detroit Lions
Availability
The Detroit Lions have tendered RB Craig Reynolds, an exclusive-rights free agent, bringing him back for 2024.
Fantasy Impact
Reynolds ran for 179 yards and one TD in 2023, serving as a depth RB for the Lions' already deep RB room. The Lions are also bringing back RB Zonovan Knight, and the two may be competing for the RB3 role in 2024 behind RBs Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery. This will be Reynolds' fourth season with the Lions.
Craig Reynolds carried the ball 14 times for 74 yards and added a 12-yard catch while losing a fumble in a 26-14 win over the Raiders in Week 8.
Fantasy Impact
Reynolds looked solid in a backup role in the Monday night win, although his lost fumble was a costly one. Reynolds coughed up the ball on a second-and-goal carry from the Las Vegas four-yard line in the third quarter. The Lions will be on bye in Week 9 before they face the Chargers in Week 10. There's a possibility that David Montgomery (ribs) will be able to return to action by then, which would push Reynolds back into the RB3 role in Detroit.
Craig Reynolds rushed three times for 16 yards while also catching his lone target for nine yards in the Lions' 38-6 loss to the Ravens in Week 7.
Fantasy Impact
Reynolds was unable to make much of an impact despite David Montgomery being sidelined for the Week 7 contest, seeing just four touches behind Jahmyr Gibbs for an offense playing catch-up all afternoon. If Montgomery is able to return for Week 8, Reynolds will be relegated to the waiver wire ahead of a Monday night contest against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Craig Reynolds (hamstring/toe) is listed as questionable to play in Sunday's game against the Baltimore Ravens.
Fantasy Impact
Reynolds is nursing a pair of injuries and is officially questionable for Sunday's game. It's unclear just how serious they are, but the team will presumably play him if he's even remotely healthy, given that they need all the help they can get in the backfield with David Montgomery (ribs) unavailable to play. If active, he's worth streaming consideration but will still play second fiddle to rookie Jahmyr Gibbs.
Craig Reynolds (hamstring/toe) was upgraded to a limited participant in practice on Thursday.
Fantasy Impact
Reynolds is fighting through a pair of injuries that he recently sustained, but he was able to practice on Thursday after being sidelined on Wednesday. He was still limited, but this shows that he's trending in the right direction for Sunday's game. David Montgomery (ribs) seems likely to be out in Week 7, so Reynolds could be in line for a fantasy-relevant role against the Ravens as a result.
