Courtney Upshaw
LB -
Week 12 Outlook
Availability
The Atlanta Falcons signed LB Courtney Upshaw to a deal that has not yet been disclosed according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Fantasy Impact
Courtney Upshaw will join a Falcons team that is poised to improve in 2016. Upshaw is the latest of offseason transactions on the defensive side of the football, most notably at the linebacker position. Upshaw brings durability and leadership to the Falcons. In five seasons, Upshaw never missed a game. He finished 2015 with 51 tackles, 6.5 sacks, three fumble recoveries, two forced fumbles and two pass deflections with the Ravens.
Baltimore Ravens outside linebacker Courtney Upshaw will get a chance to get more defensive snaps now that outside linebacker Pernell McPhee left in free agency to the Chicago Bears. According to Coach Harbaugh, Upshaw will probably be more involved in third down situations.
Fantasy Impact
Upshaw was sackless for the regular 2014 season, probably a little "sack-shy" due to receiving over $62,000 in fines from the NFL for roughing the passer in four games. Upshaw is a very aggressive, run-down linebacker and hits his target like a freight train. He ends his season with 42 tackles.
