Clayton Tune
QB - Arizona Cardinals
Availability
Clayton Tune has won the backup quarterback spot in Arizona.
Fantasy Impact
Tune was in a battle with Desmond Ridder for the QB2 job this offseason, but it appears that he has won the role. The Cardinals are releasing Ridder prior to the roster-cut deadline, so Tune is the last man standing for the job. He won't be fantasy relevant unless Kyler Murray goes down with an injury in 2024.
Clayton Tune completed 12-of-18 pass attempts for 119 yards and one interception in the Cardinals’ 38-12 loss to Denver.
Fantasy Impact
Tune drew the start in the preseason finale and struggled to drive the Cardinals’ offense into scoring position. With Desmond Ridder in the concussion protocol, Tune could be the backup quarterback heading into Week 1 of the season.
Cardinals QB Clayton Tune will start on Sunday vs. the Broncos, followed by QB Desmond Ridder.
Fantasy Impact
Tune completed 8-of-10 pass attempts for 79 yards in addition to one rushing touchdown last week against the Colts. The Cardinals are certainly impressed with the second-year QB as he seems to have the edge over Ridder to be the team's QB2 at the moment.
Clayton Tune completed 8-of-10 pass attempts for 79 yards while also rushing twice for 15 yards and one touchdown in the Cardinals' 21-13 loss to the Colts.
Fantasy Impact
Tune once again showcased his ability to find success through the air and on the ground when behind center for the Cardinals. Fantasy managers should expect Tune to enter the regular season as QB2 on the depth chart, waiting for an injury to starter Kyler Murray to offer any sort of value.
Cardinals QB Clayton Tune completed 15-of-24 passes for 163 yards and one touchdown in a loss to the Saints.
Fantasy Impact
Tune also added nine rushing yards on two carries. He was able to connect on a 10-yard touchdown pass to Tony Jones Jr. in the fourth quarter. Tune and Desmond Ridder are expected to continue to compete for the backup role for Arizona.
