The 31-year-old spent time with the Browns, Packers, and Texans before signing with Buffalo’s practice squad. Kirksey, a veteran of nine NFL seasons, finishes his career with 778 tackles, 16.5 sacks, and seven interceptions.
According to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, veteran LB Christian Kirksey has been released by the Houston Texans.

Kirksey started all 17 games for Houston last season, stuffing the stat sheet along the way. He played 97% of the snaps and had a pair of interceptions, 124 tackles, seven tackles for loss, three sacks and five passes defended. Kirksey turns 31 on August 31 and is entering his 10th season in the NFL. He will likely find a new home quickly, and the Texans will rely on Christian Harris, Denzel Perryman and Blake Cashman at LB.
Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Christian Kirksey and the Texans have agreed on a one-year contract worth up to $4.5 million.
