According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, the Washington Commanders have claimed former Minnesota Vikings DB Cameron Dantzler.
Fantasy Impact
Dantzler was drafted in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft but was released after just three seasons. The Mississippi State product had his moments, totaling 17 pass deflections in three seasons. The Commanders are looking for playmakers in their secondary and are taking a low-risk chance on a former top-100 pick.
Cameron Dantzler Sr. will reportedly not play against the Giants Sunday, per NFL insider Tom Pelissero.
Fantasy Impact
Dantzler came into the week listed as questionable due to an ankle injury and a personal matter. Head coach Kevin O’Connell stated earlier in the week that the 24-year-old was tending to a serious personal matter, which caused the cornerback to miss practice all week. The Vikings will miss a key part of their pass coverage Sunday, but will benefit from the return of Harrison Smith.
Cameron Dantzler (ribs) misses practice on Friday.
Fantasy Impact
Dantzler missed Sunday's Week 2 contest against the Colts due to a rib injury. He is trending in the wrong direction towards playing Week 3. The Vikings could be without their top two corners. Keep an eye on the inactive list once it's announced Sunday morning.
The Minnesota Vikings have selected cornerback Cameron Dantzler with the No. 89 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
