Bryce Perkins
QB -
Week 13 Outlook
Availability
The Rams are making backup QB Bryce Perkins active for Thursday night against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Fantasy Impact
John Wolford is healthy and Baker Mayfield is active, so Perkins likely falls in line as the QB3 on the active roster after serving as the backup. Perkins is available, though, if needed with Matthew Stafford out.
John Wolford and Bryce Perkins are both available to practice this week.
Fantasy Impact
Matthew Stafford is not expected to play as he remains in concussion protocol. McVay would not say who would get the first-team reps at practice between Wolford and Perkins.
Bryce Perkins completed 13 of his 23 pass attempts for 100 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions Sunday. He added 44 rushing yards on nine carries in a 26-10 loss to Kansas City.
Fantasy Impact
Perkins was in a tough situation making his first start against a solid Kansas City defense. The 25-year-old could continue to start for the Rams should Matthew Stafford miss more time. The Rams will take on the Seahawks in Week 13.
While Rams head coach Sean McVay declined to name a starting quarterback, Bryce Perkins took first-team reps in practice and is trending towards getting the nod in Week 12.
Fantasy Impact
The Rams have been forced to consider all their options with Matthew Stafford (concussion) ruled out and John Wolford (neck) also working his way back from injury. While Wolford has been cleared to play in Week 12, he may remain on the bench due to his poor play and limited participation in practice. It's possible that we don't receive any more clarity on this situation until the Rams take the field Sunday.
Bryce Perkins is expected to see first-team practice reps this week. If Perkins starts in Week 12, he would be making his first career start.
Fantasy Impact
With Matthew Stafford and John Wolford nursing injures, it makes sense for Sean McVay to prepare Perkins as much as possible. With the Rams’ season likely ending without a playoff berth, they are going to give Stafford as much time as he needs to heal up. Fantasy managers should likely avoid the Rams’ offense with the uncertainty at quarterback right now.
