The Dolphins hosted free agent CB Bryce Callahan on Thursday.
Fantasy Impact
With the Dolphins set to enter the 2023 regular season without their top corner Jalen Ramsey, they are looking to add some depth at the position. Callahan has experience with new Dolphins defensive coordinator Vic Fangio, playing for him in Chicago and Denver. The veteran Callahan played in 15 games with the Chargers last season, tallying 47 tackles and three interceptions.
According to Broncos defensive coordinator Ed Donatell, CB Bryce Callahan is “good to go” for training camp after missing the 2019 season due to a foot injury.
Fantasy Impact
Callahan was a rotational guy for the Bears between 2015 and 2018, recording 123 tackles, four sacks, and four interceptions in 45 games played. After missing all of last season due to the foot injury, he’ll look to become a big piece of the Broncos secondary, and the coaching staff is hopeful he can become the team’s number two corner.
Broncos' GM John Elway indicated the team is "hoping" CB Bryce Callahan (foot) will be ready by the time training camp starts.
Fantasy Impact
Callahan missed the entire 2019 season due to a foot injury. "We're hopeful that things are coming along and he'll be ready by the time we get to training camp," said Broncos' GM John Elway. Callahan is set to make $5 million in 2020, but could also earn $2 million in incentives. The 28-year-old is mainly an option in deep-league IDP formats.
NFL Media’s Mike Garafolo is reporting that Bears nickel cornerback Bryce Callahan broke the fifth metatarsal in his left foot during Sunday night’s win over the Rams.
Fantasy Impact
It’s not yet clear how long the injury will keep Callahan on the sideline but Garafolo suggested it will be several weeks. Callahan was playing well for Chicago so it’s a big loss as they make a run towards the postseason.
Bryce Callahan left Sunday's 15-6 win over the Rams with a foot injury. Prior to leaving in the second quarter, Callahan was able to register two total tackles.
Fantasy Impact
Hopefully, Callahan will not miss an extended period of time. If he is forced to be out next week's game or beyond, look for the Bears to start Sherrick McManis in his place. McManis is worth a look in super deep IDP leagues.
