Brock Vereen

Week 12 Outlook
Availability
The Bears continue their fire sale and waive fourth-round pick, Brock Vereen.
Fantasy Impact
Vereen lost his starting job before Week 1 to rookie Adrian Amos. He has appeared in three games and has no statistics to show for it. Vereen has no fantasy value no matter what team he plays on.
Brock Vereen lined up across from Antrel Rolle with the first team defense during Saturday's scrimmage practice. Vereen is competing against Ryan Mundy for the second starting safety position.
Fantasy Impact
Brock Vereen seems to have better pass coverage skills than Ryan Mundy. This will be a tight battle between the two safeties and will ultimately be decided during preseason. Mundy was the Bears leading tackler last year with 103 total tackles; 75 were solo.. If Vereen cracks into the starting lineup, Ryan Mundy's fantasy value will drop dramatically and Vereen, who is not as pure of a tackler, will just be an average IDP option.
With S Chris Conte being ruled out for Sunday's game versus Miami, Brock Vereen will make the first start of his career at Free Safety.
Fantasy Impact
This will be Vereen's first shot at taking over the starting spot. Conte has been in and out of the Bears lineup all year due to various injuries and Chicago hopes Vereen will bring some stability to the position. After an impressive college career in Minnesota, many thought Vereen would take over the starting role this season. Especially since the Bears spent a fourth round pick on Shane's brother. The potential is there, but take a wait and see approach before adding Vereen in IDP leagues.
