Brock Osweiler visits Colts

ESPN's Field Yates is reporting QB Brock Osweiler visited with the Colts on Tuesday.

Fantasy Impact

With Andrew Luck now retired, his backup, Jacoby Brissett is now the QB1 in Indianapolis. The Colts need quarterback depth and Osweiler might be the best available on the open market with starter experience.

Brock Osweiler lays egg vs. Pack

Brock Osweiler completed 23-of-37 pass attempts for 213 yards and an interception in the Dolphins' Week 10 loss to the Packers. He also carried once for no gain and fumbled.

Fantasy Impact

The good news is that with the Dolphins having a bye week next week, no one will be tempted to start Osweiler in fantasy football. By the time the Dolphins face off with the Colts in Week 12, we can all hope Ryan Tannehill is back in action.

Brocktober a distant memory against Jets

Brock Osweiler completed 15-of-24 passes for 139 yards and carried three times for four yards in the Dolphins' Week 9 win over the Jets.

Fantasy Impact

Brocktober is over, and Brovember doesn't look that exciting. Osweiler does not seem to be on track to provide another boom game, and the Dolphins will likely remain conservative when possible. Osweiler has a place only in 2QB formats as a bye week fill-in.

Brock Osweiler to start Week 9

Brock Osweiler will start Week 9 against the Jets.

Fantasy Impact

The Dolphins have ruled out Ryan Tannehill and Osweiler will make another start. He hasn't been someone to consider in 1QB leagues, but he has helped keep several of the Dolphins skill position players relevant, including Danny Amendola, Kenyan Drake, and starting last week Devante Parker.

Brock Osweiler quiet on TNF

Brock Osweiler completed 21-of-37 pass attempts for 241 yards and one interception in the Dolphins' Week 8 loss to the Texans.

Fantasy Impact

And just like that, we see Brock Osweiler come back to earth. Most seasoned fantasy gamers probably expected this sooner rather than later. Osweiler has been volatile, with more down games than up games throughout his career. With a depleted offense that is without Albert Wilson for the foreseeable future, and Kenny Stills also dealing with injury, Osweiler's outlook is bleak. Even for the time he holds the starting job, he's a back-end QB2 that should only be used in desperate situations in leagues that start more than one QB.
