Indy sign former Pats WR Brian Tyms

The Indianapolis Colts signed former New England Patriots wide receiver Brian Tyms, along with wide receiver Josh Boyce. Tyms has bounced around the league since 2012 spending time with the San Francisco 49ers, Miami Dolphins, Cleveland Browns before landing with the NE Patriots in 2014. He was placed on IR in August 2015 and his contract was not renewed.

Fantasy Impact

This undrafted free agent out of Florida A&M got his feet wet on the practice squad of the San Francisco 49ers in 2012. He signed with the Browns in 2013 where he only played seven games recording two receptions for 12 yards. He got his first touchdown while playing with the Pats in 2014. He has a career seven receptions for 94 yards.

Brian Tyms has been released by the New England Patriots

Brian Tyms has been released by the New England Patriots as he injured his foot last week and will head to injured reserve.

Fantasy Impact

Brian Tyms had a solid 2014 pre-season which left high hopes for 2015 but he never came through. Tyms will have to heal his foot for 2015 before he starts to plan his next course of action.

Brian Tym's foot injury could be serious

Brian Tyms is dealing with a foot injury that threatens his status for the coming season, ESPN's Mike Reiss reports. If Tyms, who had been in the mix for the Patriots' No. 4-5 wideout slot, is indeed out for an extended period of time, the competition on that front would then figure to boil down to Brandon Gibson, Aaron Dobson and Josh Boyce.

Fantasy Impact

Brian Tyms showed potential last preseason as a deep theat for the Patriots. He did little during the season though only catching five passes all year. Once again it looked like Tyms could turn heads this preseason but this foot injury could make him disappear.

Brian Tyms should be back soon after shoulder injury

Brian Tyms, who injured his shoulder during Tuesday's practice, could return sooner than initially expected after tests revealed no serious damage, Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald reports.

Fantasy Impact

Brian Tyms is fighting for a roster spot so the sooner he gets back the better from his shoulder injury. Tyms made the team after a strong preseason last year but did not do much with five catches all season. He is a deep threat with potential but is not a fantasy option going into the season.

Brian Tyms gets carted off field on Tuesday

Brian Tyms was was carted off the field Tuesday after suffering an apparent arm injury, ESPN.com reports.

Fantasy Impact

Brian Tyms is fighting to earn a spot on the Patriots roster. Going into last season it looked like Tyms might have a promising season. But he ended up with only five catches for the year. Even if Tyms makes New England's roster he has no fantasy value.
