Brian O'Neill
OT - Minnesota Vikings
Week 13 Outlook
Availability
Brian O'Neill will not be on the PUP list, but the Vikings will be cautious with him early, per Vikings’ head coach Kevin O’Connell.
Fantasy Impact
The team is planning on having O’Neill ready by September 10. O’Neill continues to work his way back from an Achilles tendon injury he suffered at the end of last season.
With the 62nd pick in the NFL Draft, the Minnesota Vikings select Pittsburgh offensive tackle Brian O'Neill.
Fantasy Impact
O'Neill is a former tight end who converted to offensive tackle. He will need to add some weight and strength in order to play tackle in the NFL, but he is considered to have the frame capable of adding that kind of size. He has plus athleticism and, as long as he can add some size and strength, projects to be good enough to be a starting left tackle in the NFL.
Pittsburgh offensive tackle Brian O'Neill posted an incredible 4.80-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine on Friday.
Fantasy Impact
It was the fastest of all offensive lineman this year, and it was the third-fastest time for an offensive lineman since 2006. He's a converted tight end, so this should really not come as a shock. He's shown growth in a short time at the tackle position, though there's still things to improve on. He's a prospect who'll get better as time goes on, so the question becomes - how high will someone draft him on his potential ceiling? Knowing the shortage of offensive line talent in the league, likely higher than most expect. He'll likely come off the board in the first two rounds.
