The Los Angeles Rams are signing Brett Maher to the team ahead of their regular-season finale.
Fantasy Impact
The Rams waived K Lucas Havrisik, leaving an opening for Maher, who began the season as the Rams' starting kicker. Maher was cut after converting just 17 of 23 field goals and missing one extra point in seven games. He will now rejoin L.A. for their final game and potentially a playoff run.
After missing three kicks this past Sunday, Brett Maher has been released by the Rams.
Fantasy Impact
Maher missed six field goals this season, including two from inside 50 yards. The Rams have not announced who their new kicker will be, but that player is definitely worth a look from fantasy managers. Through seven weeks, Maher leads the NFL in field goal attempts. Whoever takes his place will have plenty of opportunities to prove himself early.
Brett Maher made 1-of-3 field goal attempts (41) and missed his lone extra point attempt in a 24-17 loss to the Steelers.
Fantasy Impact
Maher missed field goals from 51 and 53 yards out in the loss. The 33-year-old’s misses were a back breaker for the Rams, as that was seven points that were left on the field as a result of the missed kicks. Fantasy managers can confidently leave Maher on the waiver wire.
Brett Maher made all four of his field goals and added two extra points in a 26-9 win over the Cardinals in Week 6.
Fantasy Impact
Maher was busy in the win, making field goals from 29, 35, 25, and 43 yards out. The veteran kicker has now made 16 of his 20 field goals on the season and all 12 of his extra points. He will take on the Steelers in Week 7.
Brett Maher made both of his extra point attempts and didn't attempt a field goal in Sunday's 23-14 loss to the Eagles.
Fantasy Impact
Maher was perfect on Sunday but unfortunately only attempted two kicks on the course of the day. The Rams didn't get in scoring range much against this tough Philadelphia defense, and that led to a pretty bad fantasy outing for the veteran kicker. He should have a solid chance to bounce back next week against a bad Cardinals' team.
