CB - Los Angeles Chargers - IR
Week 18 Outlook
Availability
Asante Samuel Jr. has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Broncos.
Fantasy Impact
Samuel and Ja'Sir Taylor were both ruled out, leaving the Chargers secondary a little short-handed against Bo Nix and Denver.
According to Lindsey Thiry of ESPN, third-year CB Asante Samuel Jr. has had a strong start to training camp, including a play where he picked off a Justin Herbert pass to Keenan Allen.
Fantasy Impact
Samuel emerged immediately in the league, totaling four interceptions and 22 passes defended between his first two seasons. However, he burst on the scene last postseason with a hat trick of interceptions against Jacksonville. Samuel, the son of a four-time Pro Bowl CB, will continue to be an important part of the Chargers defense as they look for a CB to line up opposite of him.
The Los Angeles Chargers have selected DB Asante Samuel Jr. with the No. 47 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Fantasy Impact
Samuel is a ball hawk and has outstanding quickness. He's very instinctive and has a similar skill set to his father former NFL Pro Bowler Asante Samuel. The FSU alum projects as an NFL starter that can play inside or outside.
