Cleveland was a long shot to make the 49ers roster with a log jam of tight ends ahead of him on the depth chart. Look for the 49ers to try and unload one more tight end before final roster cuts are made.

With injuries sidelining both Vance McDonald and Derek Carrier, the 49ers scrambled to have a backup to Vernon Davis, activating Garrett Celek from PUP and Asante Cleveland from the practice squad. If McDonald cannot go for the rest of the year, he will act as the 49ers' third TE.
