Rookie safety Armani Watts has reportedly been taking first-team reps in early offseason workouts. Watts has been the go to defensive back off the sidelines when an additional body has been needed in team drills.

Watts would likely need an injury to Eric Berry or Leon McQuay in front of him to find meaningful early-season snaps. However, given his college pedigree, Watts has a chance to carve out a defensive role in the upcoming season. He has the talent to be an every-down player given the oppotunity. With the whole Kansas City defense looking completely different from a year ago, Watts could be an early name to watch.
