Former All-Pro DB Aqib Talib officially announces his retirement from the National Football League
Fantasy Impact
Talib was a 5x Pro Bowl DB from 2013-2017, was named first-team All-Pro in 2016 and second-team All-Pro in 2013. He was part of the 2015 Denver Broncos team that won the Super Bowl and is now bringing his talents to the booth.
Aqib Talib has been traded to the Miami Dolphins. The Rams included a fifth-round pick in addition to Talib and are expecting a future late-round pick in return.
Fantasy Impact
This move helps the Rams free up some cash to sign a player like Jalen Ramsey. If they resign Ramsey to a long-term deal, the Rams defense will be dominant for a while. The Dolphins get a veteran CB that will hopefully help the team rebuild starting in 2020.
Los Angeles Rams star cornerback Aqib Taib was placed on injured reserve due a rib injury.
Fantasy Impact
Eligible to return in Week 15, the Rams will have to find a way to right the ship on offense to make coming back worth it for the veteran corner. Those in interception-heavy IDP leagues with a CB slot should explore other options.
Aqib Talib (ribs) was ruled out for Sunday’s game against the 49ers.
Fantasy Impact
Talib was added to the injury Wednesday and did not practice all week. Troy Hill and Nickell Robey-Coleman should see increased defensive roles with Talib sidelined.
Rams coach Sean McVay said in his Friday press conference that cornerback Aqib Talib (ankle) will be a full-go for Sunday night’s game against the Bears.
Fantasy Impact
Talib returned last week on a pitch count against the Lions after sitting out nine weeks with an ankle injury. “He is, yeah,” McVay told reporters on Friday when asked if Talib is expected to play a full compliment of snaps against Chicago. “He felt great after the [Detroit] game. Hasn’t had any setbacks. Had a good week of practice. He’s continuing to get healthier as the days progress. It sounds like Soldier Field is in good condition and we’re expecting to have him out there. His leadership and his production has certainly given us a boost. You just feel his presence out there on the field. That’s one of those things that we’re sure glad to have Aqib back.”
