Antonio Cromartie signs with Colts

The Indianapolis Colts and CB Antonio Cromartie agreed to terms on a one-year, $3 million deal on Tuesday that includes $250k in guaranteed money and another $500k in incentives.

Fantasy Impact

In the wake of the Colts learning about Vontae Davis' ankle injury that will sideline him for "at least" the first quarter of the season, they signed Cromartie as veteran insurance in their secondary. The 10-year will add a solid presence at the cornerback position until Davis is available to return to football activities. Indianapolis' D/ST should be avoided in the 2016 fantasy football campaign.

Antonio Cromartie to visit Bills

Free agent DB Antonio Cromartie is expected to meet with the Buffalo Bills according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Cromartie played for Bills' HC Rex Ryan during his tenure with the Jets.

Fantasy Impact

Antonio Cromartie arguably played his best football with Rex Ryan when they were both with the Jets' organization in years past. Cromartie is still a productive player in the NFL despite turning 32 in April.

Jets release Antonio Cromartie

The New York Jets have released veteran DB Antonio Cromartie on Monday.

Fantasy Impact

Antonio Cromartie's release will save the Jets $8 million against the salary cap. Cromartie will likely sign with a team to add depth to their secondary later in the offseason.

Antonio Cromartie unlikely to play Week 2

Meta reports that Cromartie (knee) got in some light work on Friday but remains 'highly unlikely' to suit up against the Colts on Monday night.

Fantasy Impact

If Cromartie does sit, expect Darrelle Revis to shadow whomever the team decides is the best WR on the Colts squad.

Weak secondary could land Antonio Cromartie on the Cowboys in 2015

The Cowboys coaching staff is assessing the potential free agents at the Pro Bowl this week and Cromartie is a major target for the Cowboys.

Fantasy Impact

The Cowboys ranked 26th in pass defense and the veteran cornerback would boost the Cowboys defense greatly. Cromartie is going into his tenth season and has 31 interceptions and 106 passes defended in his career. He has made two All-Pro teams and four Pro Bowl teams in his career, distinguishing himself as one of the best man to man defenders on the outside. The Cowboys could cut Brandon Carr this offseason and add Cromartie to what would be a very improved pass defense.
