Smith was the Bengals' No. 6 overall pick in 2009, and he played eight full seasons for Cincinnati before finishing last season with the Cardinals. With 2019 first-round pick Jonah Williams out for the year with a torn labrum, the signing of a veteran who knows the offense makes a lot of sense.

Andre Smith started 14 games with the Bengals in 2015. The seven-year veteran will compete with long-time Vikings tackle Phil Loadholt for the starting job. Loadholt missed the e tire 2015 season due to an Achilles injury suffered in the preseason.
