Ali Marpet
OL -
Week 12 Outlook
Availability
Buccaneers Pro-Bowl guard Ali Marpet will be announcing his retirement.
Fantasy Impact
This moves comes as a shock to NFL fans, as the 28 year-old guard was in the prime of his career coming off of a Pro-Bowl season. The Buccaneers lose another key piece to retirement after losing QB Tom Brady just a few weeks ago, and this puts the team further into a position to rebuild rather than contend. While both Leonard Fournette and Ronald Jones are free agents, this move will hurt whoever ends up being the running back for the team for 2022.
Bucs OL Ali Marpet (concussion) is questionable for Week 12 against the Chiefs.
Fantasy Impact
Marpet was inactive for Week 11. Tampa Bay could use him after losing A.Q. Shipley to a serious neck injury. Marpet originally suffered his concussion in the beginning of November.
Bucs OL Ali Marpet (concussion) is inactive for Week 11 against the Rams.
Fantasy Impact
Marpet remained in the league's concussion protocol throughout the week and was doubtful entering this one. It's a slight downgrade for Tampa Bay's offense versus Aaron Donald and company.
When discussing G Ali Marpet's availability for Week 11, Buccaneers HC Bruce Arians said, "We’ll wait and see. He’s gonna try and do some stuff today and see what kind of results he has tomorrow.”
Fantasy Impact
Marpet missed Week 10 with concussion-like symptoms, and he continues to progress through the concussion protocol. He'll have another opportunity to do what's required to clear the protocol on Saturday and it sounds like that will be the true indicator of whether he suits up for Tampa Bay's matchup against the Los Angeles Rams on MNF. Should Marpet play, the Bucs offensive skill player will get a boost.
Bucs' G Ali Marpet was not seen at practice Friday, he is still in the NFL's concussion protocol.
Fantasy Impact
Greg Auman of The Athletic hints that it may represent a setback in Marpet's progression through the League's concussion protocol. Marpet has been a mainstay at G for Tampa since being drafted out of Hobart in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft. If he can't go, Tom Brady could be in for a long night against a tough Rams Defense.
