Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel confirmed Tuesday that Hill underwent surgery on his left wrist to address a ligament problem. Hill had appeared on the team’s injury report throughout the 2024 season due to the wrist issue and saw his production dip accordingly, tallying 81 receptions for 959 yards and six scores—noticeably less than the 1,700-plus yards he surpassed in each of the prior two campaigns. Despite taking himself out of Miami’s Week 18 contest against the Jets in frustration, Hill recently clarified that he intends to remain with the team long term, praising the Dolphins’ positive trajectory. He’s expected to resume catching passes by the summer. (Ian Rapoport)
Fantasy Impact:
Hill’s offseason procedure sheds light on his relatively subdued output last year, hinting that his wrist ailment hindered his playmaking ability. Assuming a straightforward recovery, he could rebound to elite wide-receiver production in 2025, especially if Miami’s passing game remains aggressive. Fantasy managers should track Hill’s progress during OTAs and training camp to confirm he’s back to full speed before investing in him as a top-tier option.
