Tyjae Spears acts as clear RB2 again in Week 2

by Jordan Epp | Titans Correspondent | Mon, Sep 16th 11:44am EDT

Tennessee Titans RB Tyjae Spears saw just eight touches — six carries for 20 yards and two catches for 11 yards — against the New York Jets in Week 2.

Fantasy Impact:

Spears is a clear step behind RB Tony Pollard in this offense, and while that was the case in 2023 as well, things are different this year. Spears was a complementary piece to Derrick Henry, but with a similar skill set to Pollard, the Year 2 back is taking a backseat in the passing game as well (out-targeted 6-2). While he has been relatively efficient, he has a low-volume RB2 role in a low-powered offense, making him not much more than a stash asset in fantasy.
