San Francisco 49ers RB Christian McCaffrey could miss up to six weeks as he recovers from his Achilles tendinitis that led to him being placed on injured reserve (IR). (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
McCaffrey will be out Weeks 2-5 at a minimum due to his IR designation, setting the stage for RB Jordan Mason to take over as the temporary RB. However, after Friday's practice was described as the worst for the All-Pro RB, he needs time for recovery. With S.F. looking at the long game, especially with Super Bowl aspirations, they could approach his healing timeline with care, especially if Mason performs well in his stead.
