The 49ers are considering putting Christian McCaffrey (calf/Achilles) on injured reserve, which would leave him sidelined for at least four weeks. (David Lombardi on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
McCaffrey was practicing in a limited fashion earlier this week, but according to reports, Thursday was his 'worst day' with his injury and the team is now considering placing him on injured reserve. That would knock him out for at least four weeks, and his absence could possibly extend beyond that if the team wants to be cautious with his recovery. That would be devastating news for fantasy managers of the star running back, but it would open up a window for Jordan Mason to be a strong RB2 for fantasy purposes for an extended period of time.
