HC Kyle Shanahan told reporters on Tuesday that Mitchell is dealing with a strained hamstring. It's unknown if he will have to miss any time because of it, but it certainly makes him less likely to play in the team's preseason opener on Saturday. Christian McCaffrey is also dealing with a calf injury, so Jordan Mason projects to be San Francisco's RB1 for the time being.
