Bub Means starting on NFI, expected to be back soon

by Jordan Epp | Saints Correspondent | Tue, Jul 16th 6:27pm EDT

New Orleans Saints rookie WR Bub Means is opening the year on the non-football injury (NFI) list, though it is not expected to sideline him for long and he could even return to action in time for training camp. (John Sigler, Saints Wire)

Fantasy Impact:

Landing on the NFI list means that Means is working through an injury he may have suffered during offseason training or that could have been lingering from college. According to Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football, Means' injury “isn’t considered to be serious,” and the rookie out of Pittsburgh is expected to take the team's annual conditioning test on July 23. The Saints open camp on July 24, and if Means performs well, he could even be activated just in time for Day 1 of practice. If he returns, the rookie could have a chance to find his way into the rotation of a talent-needy Saints receiving room.
