Trey Lance first in 49ers QB rotation

Trey Lance was first in the 49ers' rotation of QBs in practice today. The other two quarterbacks who rotated reps with Lance were Sam Darnold and Brandon Allen. (Nick Wagoner on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
While it's nice to see the 49ers give Lance the first shot at practice, it should be noted that Brock Purdy wasn't at practice today. San Fransisco is managing Purdy's pre-season workload as he recovers from an elbow injury he suffered in the NFC Championship game. Purdy is still the favorite to enter week 1 as the team's starter, but the 49ers have invested a lot into Lance. If he impresses during camp, it's possible he gets a second chance to take the helm as starting quarterback of the offense. Until we get more clarification on Purdy's injury and the quarterback battle, this situation will remain murky.
