According to Pat McAffe, the Kansas City Chiefs are signing QB Blaine Gabbert to a deal to play backup quarterback. (Pat McAfee on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Gabbert will take the place of veteran backup QB Chad Henne who retired following Kansas City's championship run in 2022. The Chiefs saw Henne take charge during pivotal moments when Mahomes was hurt, and Gabbert will fill that role. Gabbert, a former top-10 pick by the Jacksonville Jaguars, won a ring with Tampa Bay in the 2020 season playing behind Tom Brady.
