PJ Walker pushing to retain starting job
by Dan Tursky | Mon, Oct 24th 11:09am EDT
Panthers interim head coach Steve Wilks reiterated that it would be hard to remove PJ Walker from the starting QB job following his performance and upset win over the Buccaneers on Sunday. (Around The NFL on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
This coach speak and support of Walker is notable, as fellow QBs Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold are both close to returning from injuries. Walker played surprisngly well on Sunday, leading the Panthers to a 21-3 victory over the Bucs while tossing two touchdowns. He almost certainly gives the team their best chance to continue winning games. Should Walker get the nod for Week 8's matchup with the Falcons, he will have some streaming appeal against a defense that just got obliterated by Joe Burrow and company.
