Mike Gesicki is reportedly being discussed as a possible trade candidate, per PFF. The Dolphins have brought up his name to other teams, showing that the Dolphins may be willing to move on from the tight end. (PFF.com)
Fantasy Impact:
Gesicki is admittedly learning a new position in Mike McDaniel’s offense. In previous seasons with the Dolphins, Gesicki was really viewed as a bigger wide receiver and was not focused on run blocking. In this new scheme, like with the 49ers offense, the run game and blocking is paramount to the success of the offense. Gesicki is not a cut candidate since he on the fully guaranteed franchise tag, but he could be moved in a trade prior to the regular season.
