Rhamondre Stevenson receiving reps as third-down back

According to Henry McKenna of USA Today, New England Patriots RB Rhamondre Stevenson has been receiving practice reps as the team’s third-down back while RB James White remains on the PUP list. (USA Today)
Fantasy Impact:
Stevenson has become a popular sleeper RB among fantasy experts after an impressive rookie season where he finished as PFF’s 10th highest graded RB. In his rookie season, Stevenson was used as an early down rusher and received limited opportunities in the passing game even though he has demonstrated the ability to be a capable receiving threat. With RB James White starting camp on the PUP list and reportedly still walking with a noticeable limp, there’s a potential opening for a Patriot’s RB to grab ahold of a third-down role. Stevenson is expected to split early down carries with Damien Harris, but if he earns third down duties as well then he would offer stand-alone value and flex appeal, similar to how Kareem Hunt has contributed in Cleveland. In dynasty leagues, Stevenson is a buy-now candidate given the potential he has shown and the fact that Harris will be an unrestricted free agent after this season, potentially leaving Stevenson with an even larger role in 2023.
