Landon Collins: Commanders looking to re-negotiate safety's contract
by Andersen Pickard | Tue, Mar 8th 8:35pm EST
The Washington Commanders are looking to re-negotiate safety Landon Collins' contract ahead of the upcoming free agency period. (The Athletic)
Fantasy Impact:
Collins is halfway through the six-year, $84 million contract he signed in 2019. However, Washington is looking to re-negotiate with the safety considering his current deal will account for $48.6 million against the cap over the next three years. The Commanders would prefer to hammer out a new contract rather than move on from the 29-year-old, but if they had to cut him, they would create nearly $6.5 million in cap space while incurring $9.6 million in dead money. Collins totaled 51 tackles, three sacks, two interceptions, two fumbles recovered, and one fumble forced through 13 games in 2021.
