Baltimore Ravens Safety Matt Elam has a lot to prove in 2015

The Baltimore Ravens are not ready to give up on Matt Elam. After last season's disappointing run, the organization is committed to do everything they can to help him. After all, he was a first round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft. Ravens General Manager Ozzie Newsome and Head Coach John Harbaugh have stated more than once "he has to get better for us." Elam's actions on the field, or lack thereof, caused the Ravens to sign former Houston Texan's star veteran safety Kendrick Lewis to help improve the injured-ridden secondary from last season. Sounds like Elam is on probation and the clock is ticking. (Baltimore Ravens )

Fantasy Impact:

Elam had a reputation through college for making big hits despite his short statue. At 5'10", he was one of the top safeties in the 2013 draft class, projected in the first round. However, last season, he was anything but top. He recorded 50 tackles with one forced fumble. He allowed big plays to happen behind him and missed more than a few tackles. Elam lacked the aggressiveness and on some plays, he seemed to be out of sync. Because of his height, he must work twice as hard to spread his frame around, over and on top to bring down any receiver. Last season he failed to live up to his first round standards.
